Journalism and News Reporting Career
In this project, the field I am exploring is journalism, and the desired career is news reporting. Journalism involves writing, broadcasting, photographing, and reporting news. It involves creating and distributing reports covering ideas and facts about events to inform the masses (Hanusch, 2017). The news media operate under pressure to report the news as the first organization. However, they have an obligation to proofread and edit different reports before reporting to adhere to the organization’s standards of quality, style, and accuracy. Journalists have far-fetched traditions for keeping government institutions and elected officials accountable to perform their duties according to the constitution. Journalists’ responsibility is to influence public opinions and act in ways that help in making human society better.
The primary activity of journalism is to report happenings and events and explain how they happened and the impending consequences. Newspapers started as records or journals for recording current affairs. The profession for writing such content gained the name journalism. Journalism involves the delivery of news through multiple mass media such as magazines, television, webs, the internet, and radio (Deuze & Witschge, 2018). A journalist can cover a plethora of subjects derived from the local, national, and international settings. They must visit the incident scene to collect first-hand information or conduct investigations for their news reports. Nevertheless, all the news reports should be written and edited in the news center to make the content impartial and objective.
