sentences or writings that use transitional devices. Provide your sources if
necessary. Be sure to state the type of transitional device used, and to
identify the word representing the device. Base the form of your answers on the
example below.
For example:
To emphasize: extremely.
She was extremely attracted to him.
“To emphasize”
is the device. “Extremely” is the word that represents the device.
Part 2:
Look at the list of rhetorical
devices listed on the above site. Pick five devices. Briefly explain (in
your own words) what they are and provide an example for each. Be sure to
identify the device, the explanation, and the example.
For
example:
Epizeuxis: This is when
the author repeats a word in a sentence to emphasize his point. Example: I
absolutely hate, hate, hate him. Did I mention that I hate him?
